Yesterday I decided to make the move to reiserfs. I downloaded the patches, burned the CD and converted my 17 GB (except for the small /boot partition) drive to reiserfs. As a test, I wrote some stuff to the hard drive and then pressed the power button to turn the machine off without a proper shutdown. It took reiserfs exactly 10 seconds to re-apply the journal records and I was back in business. Very cool. With ext2 it would have taken about 20 minutes to check and fix the partition. Great job SuSE.
Well you should thank Hans Reiser and his team of developers for this!
:)
But I must agree - ReiserFS is great. I have converted all my boxes (private and at work) to it and it runs flawlessly.
Love it...
