Does kmail have the ability to display web pages that are embedded in email messages? Even ones that use Java?
I dislike Netscape Messenger, but the one thing that 's kept me using it is its ability to handle HTML and web pages. I know some folks here have the view that if an email contains any HTML they'll discard it, but that seems counterproductive to me. I can control what I send but I can't control how people send email to me
You want counterproductive, just take the time to read 100 HTML emails: 15 get-rich-quick stock tips, 25 pyramid schemes, 40 porn-site ads, and 20 that you aren't sure what they are because they're in Chinese or something.
I get my share of email crap no matter what I do. But sometimes I do get HTML emails that I'm interested in. I think it's counterproductive if, when someone asks whether Linux program X supports feature Y, the answer is that you didn't want Y anyway.
