I got an LS-120 super floppy drive yesterday which runs from the IDE port. My system has been entirely SCSI based to date, but insmoding the ide-mod and ide-floppy modules allowed me to access the drive as a regular floppy without problem.
Then I rebooted, and when it came back up I had to load the modules again. Without them it says that /dev/hdb (where the drive lives) is not a recognised device. How can I get modules like this to load automatically at boot time, or at the time when they are required (i.e. at mount time)?
Build the kernel with kmod support (look at the documentation in the kernel sources for how-to) The SuSE stock kernels seem to have kmod support built-in already, so I am not sure why you are having trouble. Anyone? If you are still using a 2.0.x kernel, you will need to use kerneld, the kernel daemon instead. cll -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/
