Someone gave me a Cyrix MII-300GP and I thought I would replace my P-166MMX in the MoBo (I already contacted the mobo manufacturer and made sure it supports it).
Most cool. :-) I performed a very similar upgrade when a very nice gentleman (Hi Ron!) sent me a 233MHz MII Cyrix processor he had lying around.
Anyone had any problems with this processor and Suse 6.2?
The M-II I'm using has been *very* stable and reliable in my router/firewall machine. I custom compiled my own kernel for it using the following processor selection: (PPro/686MX) Processor family, you should be able to do the same and enjoy the increased speed.
