from inetd.conf:

#ftp stream tcp nowait root /usr/sbin/tcpd wu.ftpd -a
#ftp stream tcp nowait root /usr/sbin/tcpd proftpd
 ftp stream tcp nowait root /usr/sbin/tcpd in.ftpd

I can't find an ftp log anywhere.

Do I have to enable logging or something similar?

ftp server works fine, and who logs in and when is recorded in
var/log/messages/ but there is no information on what they did.
