Hello all,
I haved a laptop running on my home network and I would like to run x windows on my laptop from my suse 6.1 server. What telnet client should I use to do this....After this, do I need to set up XF86config for the monitor on my laptop or will it use the values found on the server. In other words What steps do I take to get X through a telnet client on my laptop?
If your home network is using a 100mbit full-duplex switch (and who doesn't have one of *those* lying around ;), I'd recommend SSH. If you're using anything less than a 10mbit twisted pair network, though, performance might not be satisfactory. SSH *does* support (nearly?) full X11 forwarding, though, and works well. -- -=|JP|=- Jon Pennington | Atipa Linux Solutions -o) jpennington@atipa.com | Kansas City, MO /\\ 816-241-2641 x121 | http://www.atipa.com _\_V -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/
