Which version of SuSE is better for old PC (386, 486).
They all run, and with the better memory management of the 2.2 series kernels and speed improvements to glibc 2.1.2, the latest release (6.3 ATM) is still the best.
I had a problem reinstalling an IBM Aptiva with SuSE 6.2, which flawlessly ran 5.3 before (if I remember well). YaST said early that it does not have enough memory to run (6 Megs of RAM). The management decided the machine is not even worth the effort of trying to go back to 5.3. Yet, just to show them that Linux wins, I would have liked if it worked :-). -- François Pinard http://www.iro.umontreal.ca/~pinard -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/
