You don't have HylaFax processes running. Set Start_HylaFax to "yes" in Yast after running faxsetup and faxaddmodem. Probably didn't edit faxgetty line in /etc/inittab either.
I beg to differ with you, but Start_HylaFax is set to "yes", and my /etc/inittab contains this active line: mo:2345:respawn:/usr/local/sbin/faxgetty /dev/ttyS1
This is where a "find" located faxgetty on my system.
When I boot up SuSE Linux, I get modem activity, and then the modem is set to the ready mode (the 'TR' light lights up in addition to the usual 'CS' light on my external modem).
My Zoom 56K Dualmode modem is set to class 2, as when I attempted to set it for class 1 it ran into problems (errors), but when set for class 2 it went through all of the initializations properly with no problems reported during faxaddmodem and faxsetup.
However, as stated previously I get this message when I try to send a fax: "Can not connect to server at host 'localhost', port 4559"
Do you have a firewall blocking that port? Just a thought.
