networking, always enjoyed it, let it be with modems at first, or now days with NIC's. Printers, hate them, always have! But I have to learn how to deal with printers in the world of Linux... I have the Epson 850n. For those of you that don't know, it is a network printer. The onl connection any of my computers have to it is via the NIC built into the printer. I have never setup a printer in Linux, or any UNIX for that matter. The first Linux box, named roses, I would also like to get setup as the print server for all machines, both UNIX and Windows. Samba is already running on roses so she can be a file server. I figure that once I am able to print from roses to the Epson 850n, setting up Samba should be real simple. The two things I don't understand are this: How do I configure roses to know that there is a printer on the network (TCP/IP) in which it can print to?
