Is it the british Pound sign "§"?
Hmmm. What I got in your email wasn't a Pound sign. Here's what I get: "£" (as opposed to "§").
4 $ 5 % 6 & 7 / 8 ( 9 )
So if I want a / I press shift 7 and I was going to try to live with it but I can't find @ anywhere on keyboard pressed everykey on it. On install I entered English keyboard and TESTED it before going on and it worked fine on the above characters including @ symbol.
Looks like a german keymap to me. Have a look in /etc/XF86Config , Section "Keyboard". What do you have for "XkbLayout"? If it is "de", change this to "us" (am I right here?), that should fix it.
Sounds about right... Chris
This sounds like a Dutch layout to me! The " is shift-2, so the @ should be shift-'. You accomplish that by pressing shift and the key left to the enter-key (the lower one). But this still doesn't explain how to get the keyboardlayout in order.. Sorry..
