Hello all,

I got ftp to work through our ftp proxy server and I started using wget
through our http proxy to get http files.

I have tried several things to get wget to work through our ftp proxy so we
can use wget for both http and ftp. Does anyone have any suggestions for a
wget command line or .wgetrc file for this situation:

ftp proxy: ftp-proxy.ge.com (authenticated by IP)

external anonymous ftp site: rrcc.co.la.ca.us

When I use an ftp client I just ftp to ftp-proxy.ge.com, username is
anonymous@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx, and password is my e-mail. Works like a charm
but slow.

I put ftp_proxy = ftp://ftp-proxy.ge.com in my .wgetrc and I've tried a
couple of different things for sending the address of the external site but
nothing works.

Is wget appropriate for accessing an ftp server? Through a proxy?

Thanks, Greg
