I use SuSE 6.2 and used ftp to grab the gtk.rpm package for SuSE 6.3 and upgraded. I did this because gfontview required gtk at least gtk1.2.5 I have the package gfontview-0.3.3-1.i386.rpm So I wanted to find out what it was needing after my gtk upgrade.
bash-2.03# rpm -i gfont* error: failed dependencies: gtk+ >= 1.2 is needed by gfontview-0.3.3-1
The problem here could be that gfontview.rpm depends on a package named gtk+ but the package on SuSE it is called gtk (no plus). The best bet is IMHO to grab the source of gfontview and compile it yourself -- it saves a lot of dependency troubles.
