Hi, I believe so; I couldn't get an IP address from my cable-provider. I installed The Internet Consortium's (isc.org) DHCPD 3.0 beta, and it worked. At work however, I use the home-brew dhcpd to obtain an IP address, and this does work, strangely enough. My mother (yes, my mother!) uses 6.2 with the dhcpd to provide addresses to many w9x clients, and I'm using 6.3 with the home-brew dhcpd to provide my clients with addresses. It all works nicely. My gut tells me that there are a few dhcp-standards out there, not conform the RFC's. My cable-provider uses such altered dhcp server, so I had to install a different dhcp client. I suggest you try that one. Rogier steganos1@home.com wrote:
