Hi, Excuse my ignorance, but I can do vi-type command line editing in a regular bash command line (say, open xterm start editing/recalling past commands). However, in R (a statistical package) I can't do it (I used to in 6.1). Apparently, according to the manuals the reason is that it cannot find libreadline.so. In fact, locate libreadline under SuSE 6.3 returns /usr/lib/libreadline.a and under RedHat 6.1, where R works fine, /usr/lib/libreadline.so.3.0 /usr/lib/libreadline.so.3 /usr/lib/libreadline.a /usr/lib/libreadline.so ^^^^^^^^^^^ Is SuSe missing something? What's the equivalent to libreadline.so in SuSE? Mostly likely I'm the one missing something, can you help me? Thanks in advance.
