Any Matlab for Linux Users here? I'm using SuSE 6.1 and Matlab release 11.1. Matlab runs fine unless I want to use a mex-file. I have used the mex-file (complied for both NT and Unix successfully numerous times. I can compile the mex file without errors on Linux, but I get a segmentation fault if I try to use the compiled version. I cannot even start Matlab within gdb to troubleshoot the mex-file. I am working with their support people, but they are very slow and seem to know nothing at all about Linux, so I post here in hopes of finding someone else who has had this problem before. Mathworks has a page about this, and I think if I could do the necessary steps, it might solve my problem. The page is http://www.mathworks.com/support/solutions/v5/11129.shtml I can install only the first package (and installing libraries makes me very nervous). Here is what I have so far. *** elfenix:~ # ls -l /usr/i486-linuxlibc5 lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 21 Feb 3 17:17 /usr/i486-linuxlibc5 -> /usr/i486-linux-libc5 elfenix:~ # cd /home/csmiller/compustuff/matlab elfenix:/home/csmiller/compustuff/matlab # rpm -i gcc-libc5-2.7.2.3-1.i386.rpm elfenix:/home/csmiller/compustuff/matlab # rpm -i libc5-devel-5.4.38-3.i386.rpm failed dependencies: kernel-headers is needed by libc5-devel-5.4.38-3 *** If you've done this before, I'd really appreciate your insight! Thanks! (This is the one program on my box that I've had to purchase. It is also the most troublesome program on my box. This is not the first problem I've had with Matlab!)
