The RPM database is corrupted; please, try to issue: rpm --rebuilddb | I am also confused by the reference to Red Hat. This machine was a | fresh install from my new SuSE 6.3 CDs last night. This machine has | never had Red Hat anywhere near it. It's RPM, which emitted this message; RPM has its home @redhat.com and Red Hat is kind enough to run the RPM mailinglist, too. | The problem first cropped up for package afio, so when I re-ran the | update, I excluded it from the list. I really don't want to have to keep stopping and restarting | the job; I would prefer it to go through nice and smoothly all at | once. Please, try to install/update the mininal system (base system) first; then start the system again and fetch all needed packages -- install these fetched packages from a local device. Do you try to install per through a proxy server? If yes, is it a real FTP proxy server? Otherwise it does not work; per FTP through an HTTP proxy is not implemented. -- work : ke@suse.de Karl Eichwalder home : ke@gnu.franken.de -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/
