I received my 6.3 dvd copy friday, and mine works fine. I use a EIDE dvd player (toshiba). It boots from CD, no problem =:-)) I did not receive a diskette, though, wich I miss, because I wanted to do a upgrade from 6.2. Now I installed everything fresh, which is not to bad, in this case. One problem: My Adaptec 1505 SCSI card is not recognised at all, and i have not figured out yet where the right SCSI kernek (07 I think..) is located. Maybe this release has some SCSI recognition problems? regards, Roeland -----Original Message----- From: Andrew Branch [mailto:AndrewB@abcsystems.com] Sent: Monday, January 24, 2000 10:48 AM To: Dunphy Richard-rdunph01; SuSE Linux (E-mail) Subject: RE: [SLE] SuSE 6.3 DVD Edition Hi, I don't know if you still have the problem with the DVD disk or if you managed to resolve it. I received my copy (on DVD) this weekend and have exactly the same problem with the exception that I have the Bootdisks but still no luck. I am using SCSI and reading it via a Panasonic DVD-RAM drive. I know there is nothing wrong with the Drive because I can read other DVD disks in Windows (I can't read the SuSE disk though). I tried reading it from the SuSE 6.2 installation I have but get "No media Found". I was not trying to do an update, but a clean install. I wish I had got my copy on CD now :-( I have emailed SuSE tech support and am waiting for an answer. Only I can't read anything on the disc. Firstly there were no bootdisks so I tried to boot from the DVD drive, and nothing happened. So next I used an old SuSE Bootdisk and it couldn't mount the DVD drive. Then I tried a DOS Bootdisk to see if I could read anything, but there was nothing. And finally I tried Win95 which can read some other DVD-ROMs and still nothing. Do I have a bad DVD? or do I need to do something special? Any help would be much appreciated.
