are youtrying to install tw nics on the same machine ?? At 01:35 PM 1/17/2000 -0600, Mac Q. Flores IV wrote:

did you use the dlink software to set and configure the isa network card ? did you set the SAMEsetting i ythe option section on the driver setup screen in yast ?
to compile this before using the ne option for NIC in my IBM Aptiva. yet,
why are you compililing it ? have you tried using the stock ne1000/2000 driver in the yast pick list ? This works with a lot of ne 2000 compatable cards , I have used it with linksys , dlink and ndc and all have worked with the plian yast driver , provided I first set up the card with the setup util. Note you may have to try some diffrent io and irq setting till you get it to work.\\ ie irq = 3, 10, io 0x280 , 0x300 I usuaaly use iobase = 0x300 and irq = 10 in the options line. and set the topoligy to use ethernet (twisted piar) Used to use thin coaxial ethernet before moving to fast fast twisted piar ethernet.
with my present installation of SuSE 6.2, i'm can't get it to work. the error i get on this NIC on my IBM Aptiva P120 is the same error i get on an

the linksys pci ethernet card are based on the dec tulip drive. I here used the standard yast DEC Tulip driver in the pick list. I left the options line empty. something
amiss in the way i'm configuring both NICs and it has me baffled.
What is the exact error message you are using ? This will help to solve the broblem , otherwise every one is shooting in the dark. Are you using one card in one machine or trying to set up two cards on the same machine. if you are mixing 10 megabit ehternet with 100 megabit ethernet you must have a 10/100 hub that suports both of these at the seme time. most kits have only the 100 megabit hub , that do not suport the 10 nmegabit cards. So you may need to upgrade the hub.
any help is greatly appreciated.
I bet you have a new (version 2.0) of LNE100TX. You need atleast
Do you ahve more info on the card , and which version of the card you have. Call / email linksys if you have to , they have very good tech suport. Check there web page at www.linksys.com and try to find exactly wich card you have and note which chip is on the card. This will help to diagnose weather or not you need a newer driver than whats in tha suse box. what I have havce worked with the usse staock drivers. But if they need a newer driver then we need to know this ? Sorry I cant help furhter here. But if you post the ifo I am susre someone here can proovide more help. Are you siung the stock kernal , or have you compliled a new one ?
version 0.91g of tulip driver. Kernels prior to 2.2.14 included an ancient verion of tulip.c which didn't work with these cards. Either get the new driver or use 2.2.14.
I don't know about D-Link though.
