If I remember right there has been some changes to ppp from the suse 6.0 to the new kernel I don't know if they effect the kernel or anything but as a general rule, when you update the kernel, update everything else also. SO I would either suggest getting 6.3 or updating your packages if you really want to use the 2.2.14 kernel. Austin Sean Rima wrote:

I lose my ethernet connection and am going to a dial up account. With the stock 2.0.36 kernel of 6.0, I can connect to the net and ping etc okay. If I use a 2.2.14 kernel that I compiled, nothing happens when I connect to the net using PPP. I am not sure what I have missed as I followed the manual as far as I can see.
