Hi,
Once I reported this problem, thought it was gone, but it's back and I don't
have a clue how to solve it.
Here's the story:
1) Mount a dos formatted floppy, containing files 001.x 001.y 001.z
2) Unmount the floppy
3) Mount a dos formatted floppy, containing files 002.x, 002.y 002.z
4) Using ls or KDE's file manager I SEE files 001* -- that's the files
that where in floppy 1.
5) More, I can't access them, I can't access the 002*, which are the
ones physically in floppy 2.
6) If instead of 3), I mount an ext2 floppy I can see and operate the
files that are contained in it.
7) Umount ext2 floppy and mount dos floppy #2, shows files of floppy
#1, so I back to ground zero
Here's additional info -- kernel messages and my fstab:

I really would appreciate if you could help me on this weird one... anybody
ever experienced such thing? An additional note, my CD-ROM(IDE Atapi) is going
nuts (mechanically, sometimes doesn't start spinning, even on W98), could this
be related, i.e., "confusing" the kernel/other devices?
Thanks in advance for your help/comments,
Alvaro Novo
