same problem here, my solution was to (1) rename the modules dir out of
harms way (2) remake & install the kernel to my usual recipe & reinstall
the modules. All ok afterwards.

Subject: [SLE] Slow downloadss
I have my new SuSE 6.3 running and I love it!
Two minor problems, though. (1) Wvdial doesn't recognize my modem as
being installed, and (2) kppp works but the transfer speeds are so
s-l-o-w. I have a 56K modem that connects at 115200 (according to kppp)
but trransfer speeds are less than 100 b/s in KDE and less than 1 kb/s.
Do I has something configured wrong?
John
