How can i read files off my windows partition (hda), i have tried mounting it and it seems to work correctly but when i look into the directory where i mounted it, there is nothing. This has happened to me already. When installing manually the x server for my Ati Rage i copied it onto a windows formatted diskette (under windows), then rebooted into linux, mounted the drive, but when i looked into the directory there was nothing. Nevertheless i executed the rpm commands to install the package and it worked.??!!
Add something like this to your /etc/fstab /dev/hda1 /dos vfat default 1 2 Use hda1 or whatever your windows partition is. I'm assuming vfat. You will also have to make a dir called /dos for this to work. You can change that name to anything you like just make sure the name matches whatever you put in fstab. This will mount your windows paration every time you boot. 6.3 should include the Rage fury driver. I already had mine so I didn't check. Its part of the Svga driver. Just select Svga. Sax didn't want to start for me so I had to tell it to use the Svga driver.
