Do it the other way round , Linux hooked up to the cable modem , with a
network card , that goes to the hub, then plug the windows machie to the
sae hub.

Onlinux you will need DHCP , ip-masqerading , and firewalling .

Others can fill you in , as i am working still with dial up via ppp and
diald over telco lines.
Hope soon to have either cable ot dsl I hope.
