Try adding an 'append' line in /etc/lilo.conf specifying the nic's i/o
port; something like:

append ether=irq,0xAddr

where irq is the interrupt setting and Addr is the hex i/o map address.
You can find out what they are by using the pnp tools I think, or if you
have a W9x dual-boot, then look at 'Control Panel/Device Manager/Network
Adapter/properties. It will show these settings under W9x.

See the Ethernet-HOWTO. Should be in or near /usr/doc/howto/en

Don't forget to run 'lilo' as root afterward.

Pnp seems to work much better for PCI devices than ISA. If it's an ISA
card, then one option is to disable the Pnp if a configuration program is
supplied with the card.

With the 3Com 3c509 ISA cards I have used, I found it that after I
disabled the pnp it was less problematic under Windows.
