For hours I have sat down and read the FAQ's, HOW-To's and even some of
the source (although I can't write a letter of C.)

I cannot get chat to talk to my modem. I invoke it using Diald, I see
the RTS and DTR lights go up and then I get:
        
        chat:Can't get teminal parameters:Input/output error

Every time! At least when I use it with a script. When I put everything
on the command line I get the same things happening to my modem but now
it says.

        
     chat:Can't get teminal parameters: (and something with siocontroll)

I can use my modem with minicom perfectly.

I tried the program runscript from minicom. But it's interpreter is
rather buggy. I get an error I just can't shake out.

Anyone seen this before (and solved it).
