Point taken. My wish was not for you to change your recommentation, I
merely wanted to inform of another SuperMicro experience. My main point of
the e-mail was the same as yours, to suggest good quality motherboards(I'm
not meaning that SuperMicro is not good quality).

Sounds like you had a duff board. The Adaptec SCSI adapter is well
respected and not prone to suffering tantrums. Supermicro boards have
either won or done very well in every review I've ever seen - both
single and dual processor versions. I've built 2 dual x86 machines in
the last month, both with Supermicro boards, and both have functioned
perfectly. I'm impressed by them. I'm not so impressed by your report
that they would take several weeks to test an apparently faulty board.
You'd think if a manufacturer was making a good product, backing it up
with good after sales service would be a formality. After a number of
unfortunate experiences, whenever I buy kit these days I go to a
supplier I trust, who I know will replace a problematic component from
their own stock. They aren't the cheapest in town, but they provide the
backup service I need. Like you, I would find having a component on test
delay a project for weeks unacceptable.

I stand by my recommendation of Supermicro though... :-)
