Used to run Redhat. Started using SuSE because in the past RH DID
provide KDE. Also because RH prices were almost doubled for a while here in France.
- I liked in RH the possibility of setting up a machine in a matter of hours (last
install I did with RH 5.2: a Samba server on a dual PII 333 install + compiling a SMP
kernel + configuring samba, less than 3 hours)
- I like Suse a lot, I guess I need to get used to it, whiçch means that at the
moment, it takes me some time to configure my 6.2 machine. There's one thing I don't
like though : finding packages I never asked for, that have nothing to do with the
default install I asked or even which I refused specifically. I think the
dependencies in Yast DO need a rework.
Of course I like the présence of hundreds of packages I've sometimes not even ever
heard of and being able to install them and check them...
