Hello,

I have installed Star Office 5.1 (delivered with SuSE Linux 6.2). When I
first started Star Office I had to enter a media key (this key is printed in
the manual).

But now every time I start Star Office I have to register; e.g. I have to
enter a customer number and registration code. I don't have one.

How can I get a cust.number and reg.code? Does anyone have a customer number
and registration key?

By the way I have posted a question at Sun. I got the following answer, but
I really don't know how to do it. According to this mail I have to register
myself, but I do not get a cust.number and registration code.

At 10/14/99 10:55 AM we wrote - Media keys and registration numbers
are no longer available for StarOffice.  Please download the new
version from our website at http://www.sun.com/products/staroffice.
Please note that this version does not require a media key, and you
will not receive a registration key upon completing registration.

If you do not have the ability to download StarOffice over the
internet, you can purchase it for $9.95 plus shipping at the above
URL.

If neither of these is a viable option, following is a generic
COMPANY key.

The following generic COMPANY key is provided to you with the
following conditions:
1) You must register with the Sun website at
http://www.sun.com/products/staroffice.
2) You understand that all fix packs and updates will only be used
for Sun releases of StarOffice (version 5.1a and higher).

When prompted for a Media or Company key, select Company key, and
enter the following for the Company key:
     680A0JH7M60MVRCQPD147K
You will then be prompted for your user data.  In the Company Name
field, type in:
     Sun Free Download Version
Please note, The generic Company name is case sensitive.

Dear Sir, Madam,

Recently I have bought SuSE 6.2 Linux. In this package was also Star
Office 5.1 included. This was one of the reasons that I bought SuSE,
so I did not have to download approx. 70 MB.

I have installed Linux and Star Office (with the Runme script). It
was very easy (you probably have figured out that I am a
Linuxnewbie). But when I started Star Office, I had to enter a media
key; this media key was also delivered with SuSE.

So I have entered the media. There was also a possibility to enter a
registration key, but I could not find this. But now when I start
Star Office, I have to enter a registration key (now I have less
than 15 days).

Is there a way to get such a registration key? I you FAQs I have
read that I have to download the latest Start Office 5.1. Is there
another way, for example a patch? So yes, how can I download and
install this patch?
