| Greetings,
|
| I'm messing around with NFS on my local ethernet.
|
| For example, I have a 15MB file on the NFS server I need on the client.
|
| When I copy the NFS served file from the server to the client, it
| progresses at about 50K/sec or so.
|
| Ftp'ing the same file shoots by at about 900K/sec.
|
| Is NFS normally this slow? (I am using rsize and wsize = 16k with 2.2.12
| kernel / 6.2)
You really need to check on what is happening on your net. Try reducing
the size of your packets, if you drop any fragments of a packet then
you have to resend it all. Your message is also a bit vague as there
are 5 flavours of ethernet and you don't mention what sort of K's you
are transferring per second.
