Jeff,

        I would make a suggestion of TKftp, which is just a wonderful program
and can be found on linuxberg.com. It  does what you would like, and it
has a nice interface. I also agree that ncftp is damn good..but for a
nice GUI ftp client TKftp is very nice and you can tag multiple files at
once which is nice.
