I would need some advice, please.
Here we go. I will go on a 3rd install. I do not know what is
wrong. When I installed SUSE 6.0 Evaluation on my P5, I had no
problems whatsoever. Now, I attempt to install SUSE 6.2 Evaluation
on a computer with the following features
motherboard QDI Brilliant 1
128 Mb SDRAM
Matrox Millenium AGP with 8 Mb
HD1 Fujitsu 6.2 (as a primary master with Win9x)
and
HD2 Samsung 3.2 (as a secondary master for SUSE 6.2)
SUSE will install OK. Once I have installed a KDE workstation, I
run SAX (not sax -r svga but sax only). Afterwards, the following
errors show up:
if I write "startx" at the prompt: an error message tells me I have
to configure x86free; if I configure x86free, it will abort because
I do not know the path of X:ROOT (or X=ROOT);
if I write "kde" at the prompt, there is a script which will loop
endlessly and hang the box.
Any clues ?
Any help will be mostly appreciated.
What do I do wrong ?
Cheers from the Canary Islands,
APS
