Tim,
I used different boot disk to boot up each distribution, RH does not know
about SUSE parition and vice versa. I probably would have been called an
idiot if i had tried that. But I have experience in installing other
distributions ( slackware ( 4 years a go) and suse and redhat. And i tend to
keep them on different paritions, and use differnt boot disk to boot them up
if i ever need to reboot my machine

One question, are the two distributions sharing any partitions? If so,
that may be your biggest problem. Note that the two use different
versions of the glibc library (RH6 uses glibc2.1 and SuSE 6.1 is
glibc2.0 based) and have a slightly different directory structure. When
I install more than one distro to a single machine I keep the cores
completely separate even when they use the same library (I've been
burned by this before).
Good luck,
Tim
