[SLE] IPChains

Hi!

Now that I have a cable modem, security is a real concern for me. I've read
all sorts of documentation on IPMasq et cetera, but I'm not sure how much of
it applies to me. I only have one machine, with one NIC, with one regular
user (me :).

I understand that IPChains is the current method of protecting networks with
a machine based on kernel 2.2. Can I run IPChains on my machine to protect
myself? I don't run any services (http, ftp, telnet), so I'm not afraid of
losing *that* kind of functionality. I do, OTOH, surf alot :). What do you
think?
