I am new to Linux and have purchased the SuSE 6.2 kit.

I have installed (Clean setup) on 486 / 16MB / 1.2GB HDD / Trident 512KB
video.
Set up X windows.
Configuration menu's in Xwin are too big and cannot see the bottom buttons.
System very slow.
Installed Star Office and impossible to use as software is so slow.

Set up on my home computer.
P233 / 96MB/ 4.3GB HDD / S3 - S375 video.
Install was much quicker but runs slow.
Installed Star Office and is still impossible to use as software is so slow.
I have set up HP printer OK.
I have set up Modem OK and connect to the net via wvdial then netscape.
Netscape still slow but usable.

We are keen to learn and use Linux in our High School (I am the IT
Technician),
but at this speed it is no go.

Any help please.
