I see from your address that you are in Germany, so this may not help, but...
If your card has a US FCC ID number on it, you can at least get an idea who
manufactured it by looking up the FCC ID at:
http://www.fcc.gov/oet/fccid/
I've used this trick on many nameless bits of hardware in the past, and had
pretty decent results.
