To give an idea of the difference... before upgrading I could rip a 5
minute track(approx 60megs), sox it to a wav, and encode it to mp3(192
kb) in about 7 minutes. Now it takes 12 minutes! Almost twice as
long. I am going to try recompiling sox on my own and see if that
helps.
