hi all
at the same time i got linux i also got network internet connection, so my
modem lost interest. i had thought it was pci, and therefore a winmodem.
now i am in luxembourg at my parents, and i will have to use a modem to
connect. since i was fiddling about both my computers (see 2 previous
posts), i noticed, that the modem was in fact an isa card... my question
now is (among others): are all winmodems PCI, or am i the lucky owner of
one of those rare ISA winmodems?. should ANY ISA modem work under linux?
Or, has somebody already heard of Compaq making modems using non-standard
hardware, or using proprietary protocols?

if anybody has any info about these, please reply..

greets,
Alex _smkd_
