[SLE] 6.2 Install :) (a few minor problems....)

I installed 6.2 over 6.1 w/ virtually no problems at all! :-) Well, maybe
just a few minor ones.......I had to rebuild the kernel in order to get
my zip drive working, but otherwise, everything else worked right off
the bat! That includes kppp, Netscape (well, about as well as can be
expected anyway), OSS, printing, etc. Just wish I could get the scanner
to work too (it's USB, so I'm SOL there, at least for now). It was almost
too easy - kinda worrying, that....
GREAT JOB SuSE!
A minor problem:
During bootup, it appears that "httpd" is started twice. I see the following:
Starting httpd done
Starting httpd failed
I know this has to do w/ Apache (which I am not using anyway). Besides
rc.config would there be any other file which might be trying to start
up httpd?
I have a problem that has plagued me since 6.0. My monitor is a
Gateway Vivitron 17". When using SAX, I choose the "Gateway
CrystalScan 1776...." something like that. I chose that because it
seems to be the closest one to my monitor (and plus, my monitor has a
"1776" somewhere on the front...:-)). It seems to work fine EXCEPT
for the fact that the desktop is smaller than the screen. There is approx.
1/4" to 1/2" of blank screen on all four sides of the desktop. My resolution
is set at 1024 x 768. I have tried numerous different settings including
varying resolution, fiddling w/ the Virtual Desktop settings, choosing
different monitors, etc. But whatever I do I cannot seem to make the
desktop grow to fill the screen. Since I sit in front of a 21" all day at
work, it's hard enough to go home to a mere 17" - and I don't need
to lose any more of the screen! If anyone has any ideas about how
I can get it to use all of my screen I would certainly appreciate it!
(BTW - if it makes any difference, the graphics card is a Graphics
Blaster RIVA TNT 128).
TIA,
Mike
