Hello,
Can you help please ?
I can connect to the Internet with WV Dial as root. I have manually specified
namserver in yast for WV Dial. I also had to change SETUPDUMMYDEV=yes from no
in rc.config. Prior to this although I could connect I could not resolve dns.
My problem is that I want to use kppp - but the connection times out - I cannot
ping the namserver either (though I can with wvdial).
I think that there may be problems because I have an ethernet card in the
system - and maybe dns is attempting to be resolved in the wrong place...
Should there be an entry in route.conf for ppp0 ? At the moment there is only
an entry for eth0.
rc.config has the correct values for nameserver and search.
Also - I would like to use wv dial for my normal account - but although the
dialler starts, when I click on connect, I am told that the modem is busy. I
have followed the changing permissions in the readme file but this has not
helped.
WV Dial works fine for root....
thanks for reading - help appreciated.
regards,
Mark
