Hi,

Has anybody succeeded in getting vgetty to work on a 3COM U.S. Robotics 56K
faxmodem ?

All I get from vm (debug level 5, verbose) in /var/log/vm.log is something
like this:

09/11 03:48:05 detecting voice modem type
09/11 03:48:05 voice command: '' -> 'OK|ATE1'
09/11 03:48:06 voice command: 'ATI9' -> ''
09/11 03:48:06 voice command: 'ATI' -> ''
09/11 03:48:06 US Robotics detected
09/11 03:48:07 vm: entering voice mode
09/11 03:48:07 vm: Installing signal handlers
09/11 03:48:07 voice command: 'AT#CLS?' -> ''
09/11 03:48:07 voice command: '' -> 'OK'
09/11 03:48:18 vm: timeout while reading character from voice modem
09/11 03:48:18 US Robotics voice modem
09/11 03:48:18 This is a driver beta version. V0.4.b3
09/11 03:48:18 voice command: 'AT&H1&R2&I0' -> 'OK'
09/11 03:48:18 tio_set_flow_control( HARD )
09/11 03:48:18 voice command: 'AT#VTD=3F,3F,3F' -> 'OK'
09/11 03:48:18 vm: Modem returned ERROR
09/11 03:48:18 can't set DLE responses
etc...

Is the modem not capable of voice type messages perhaps ? What are DLE
responses ? Do I have to modify my settings ?

Thank you.
