I use wvdial and has to specify the DNS in /etc/resolv.conf. However,
the DNS should be in IP address (e.g. 123.123.123.123), otherwise it's
chicken and egg - you need a DNS to resolve host name and if you DNS
is specified in host name, who is going to resolve it?
But I also have a problem. One ISP auto assign the DNS and it seems
that wvdial doesn't capture it so I am still working on how to connect
to Internet thru' that particular ISP.
