It's probably even less now. It seems to work great with the X server
provided by Xfree86.

Beyond brand favorites and other matters of personal preference, I think
that something we're all interested in is the ease-of-setup and general
configurability of our fancy new hardware. That's one of the things that
prompted me to mothball my Voodoo Banshee. Now that SuSE has included
V3/Banshee in SaX's list of supported video cards, that argument has been
abolished.

Heck, when I bought my first Permedia2v 8mb PCI card ($60, no-name
manufacturer), SaX wouldn't so much as start the GLINT server for me, so I
had to use xf86config to make my card run. By the time I mothballed my
Banshee, however, and replaced it with my STB GlyderMax 8mb AGP ($35, oem
surplus), SaX handled the GLINT server beautifully.

How was your experience, Sean? What did you use to set up your Matrox
with? Is it fairly easy to configure other modes? I'm curious, because the
G200's got a bad rap initially, and I've been wondering where progress on
that server is...
