This depends on what mail client you're using. Some, like pine, will let you specify
your preferred SMTP host, and you can just enter the hostname of your ISP's SMTP server
right into the client.

An alternative way is to run sendmail locally. You can either let your sendmail deliver
mail directly to destination MX hosts, or you can configure it to send all mail to your
ISP's SMTP server. To do this, edit your /etc/rc.config file, and modify the
SENDMAIL_SMARTHOST="" line to contain the hostname of your preferred SMTP server.
