I mark this an important day in life. (1st Sept 99, what's the big
deal?)
I have just setup SuSE 6.2 on my PII-350/128MB. I got my CL TNT2 and
Live work without any difficulty, but the most important: I finally got
the internet setup and this is the first message sent through Linux.
:-)
I need to thank people like Jon Pennington, Guy Van Sanden and many
other experts who guided me along the way. Without them, I maybe still
wondering with WindozZ and paying 'bill'.
What's next? I will be trying out other options like gnome (can't get it
work in 6.2), xfce (what's that?) modem and print server and
maybe...SAMBA if I can survive till then. (without giving up along the
way)
As I reported before, I am currently playing with RH6.0, Mandrake 6.0
and SuSE 6.2 and only SuSE give me a very stable platform, the other two
are rather unstable, dunno why?
I deeply believed that I've made the right choice, SuSE is my Linux...
I would like to share with all the new 'joiner' to this list, as I am
only started playing Linux in about 3 months ago, but with the help from
this list, I've learn lots of things way before I need them.
Keep it up, thank you to all.
