[SLE] TimeZone and "plan"

A little puzzle for someone ...
I have "plan" on a SuSE-5.1 installation running on machine "A".
There is another machine, "B", with SuSE-5.2 installed. Both machines
are on GB Timesone (currently BST=GMT+100). Both machines are using KDE.
If a user runs "plan" when using "A", no problem.
If a user on "B" logs in to "A" and starts up "plan", initially no
problem. The time shown on the "plan" window, displayed on "B", is correct
BST.
But this ("B") user then iconises "plan" (click on "dot" button).
When this is reactivated, the time shown on the "plan" window
is now GMT (without the timezone correction, i.e. 1 hour behind).
This persists if the "plan" window is repeatedly iconised and reactivated.
This behaviour is not observed by the user on machine "A" (i.e. the
machine where "plan" is actually running): it always comes up with
the correct BST time.
Any ideas, anyone?
Thanks,
Ted.
