That nasty black'n'white // grey pixmap..... where on the earth is?

Is part of the Xserver itself?
Is part of Xwindow's architecture. If necessary I'll hack the code, but by
the way I hate that thing, and I think it makes Xwindow seem poor'n'ugly,
nobody has thought on changing it into any kind of gray//blue, to make it
seem a bit better???

Well, I need to know how//where to change it :-(
