I am using SuSE 6.1. kernel 2.2.7. with
a deskjet 890c working correctly.

I have compiled 2.2.10 then 2.2.12, and
everything works, except that I can't
print anymore.

 Are there any changes between 2.2.7 and
2.2.10/12 in terms of printer control? I
have

parport compiled as a module, and   this
used to work in 2.2.7.

I can see the queued item with lpq, but
they won't print.

et/conf.modules contains the lines

alias parport_lowlevel      parport_pc
options parport_pc io=0x378
irq=none,none

If I do lsmod, I get

lp                      5116   0
(autoclean)(unused)
parport              47028   0
(autoclean)(lp)

 but there is no 'parport_pc   6428   1
[parport_pc lp]' line.

Can anyone help?
