Hi
I'm not sure about some of the earlier probs ... but I'll try and help
with what I know...
[Network Card]
I'm pretty sure the RealTek RTL8139 is not supported ... I have this
card too ... comes with the Trust network pack thingy (2 cards 2 windows
disks and large bnc )
I have tried this card with pretty much every module on the SuSe and
Redhat distros ... anyone have any clues ?
[Internet]
you need to add to your /etc/resolv.conf
earch yourisp.com
nameserver xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
nameserver xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx your ISP's nameserver ip addresses
and that should do it.
[ KDE / Gnome]
I remember seeing a 'menu copier' between KDE / Gnome Window Managers
.... (I think !!)
try www.freshmeat.net

Subject: [SLE] Update and help
Hi there, for those who has help/guided me along the way, this is the
latest
update and further help is needed.
Newbie joined the Linux world since June 99. Runing the following
hardware:
1. Pentium II-350, 128mb, 13gb hdd, 4416 CDRW and 24x CDRom, with CL
TNT2
value, CL Live value running SuSE 6.0/2.2.10:
a. Xserver running at 800 x 600 24b - ok
b. Live - CD ok, Games ok, MP3 not ok: X hang or X11amp not
responding
(either case, no fixed pattern)
c. Gnome, KDE - ok
d. CDRW - Read ok, Write not ok
e. Network - Realtek RTL8139 not ok, dunno how to config . :-(
f. Modem - ok
g. Internet - not ok, still unable to connect
Looking for kind expert to guide me on how to get MP3 work, X11amp
installed
and able to launch but stop response, able to Ctl-Alt-BS to kill session
but
unable to re-launch X without reboot.
Gnome is working, it is very impressive but need help on how to add
application which already setup in KDE.
CDRW is unwritable but think it's okay for time being. But help is
appreciated.
Need help on how to setup the network card, is there anything to key
into
the module setting? like i82365 for pcmcia?
Last but the most important, can someone run me down on how to get my
internet work, in SG, all ISP connection are through proxy server, eg:
proxy.pacific.net.sg, without this in the browser, overseas sites are
unable
to get connected (when surfing using WindozZ.) but I can't set this in
Netscape, it told me that server not found.
I have managed to setup wvdial, and where and what else should I look
into?
The wvdial dials and connected, but Netscape can't get connected.?
Thank you in advance on spending time on help me out of this fix.
Regards.
Dennis
