& thanx for responding to my call for help!     :-)

Bob Easton, you were right about the gpp package. I installed that &
then after following thru the install instructions I've got all the true
type fonts back! So, if you feel like trying to install that package
again & run into hassles, post them onto this list & you never know what
will turn up-an answer even.   ;-)
