I've already posted this tonight, but in case you missed it..:)

Mandrake does seem to be a little 'snappier', that is to say, it's not
faster really, but it feels quick. When you initiate something, like
opening a KFM window, the display reacts quicker. That does not mean that
it comes up in less time, it just starts moving immediately (does that make
any sense?).

LinuxConf has evolved a lot since the last time I played with it. The
interface is friendly, but not overly bloated. Network configuration was
very easy, which leads me to the decision that Mandrake will be on my
gateway box. I installed YaST (yeah, it worked :) ), so I'm not missing any
administration tools.

I haven't had a chance to compile a kernel yet (which is the only thing that
I ever care about as far as speed), but that really shouldn't be any
different.

It's working out well. Not well enough for me to leave SuSE, but it is
nice. Maybe I'll teach my girlfriend on a Mandrake box...maybe not.
